Bronze Smoky Eye, featured on the Marilyn Denis Show
May 07, 2013

On my recent appearance on the Marilyn Denis Show we featured the “How To Do” a Bronze Smokey Eye.  This is a fresh look for the popular and often requested smoky eye.  Here is the link to my segment and below are the steps for you to create the summer inspired bronze smoky eye!

Step One: Prep Eyelid

Start with a base shade foundation of your choice (Jane Iredale Pressed Powder Foundation), and apply it all over the upper lid which will give the eyeshadow a long-lasting effect.

Step Two: Light Colour Eyeshadow

Take a crème colour eyeshadow (MAC Eye Shadow – Shroom), tap the shade onto the lid, and sweep the light colour eye shadow all the way up to the brows. This will highlight the brow bone and further illuminate the eyes.

Step Three: Dark Brown Colour Eyeshadow

Take a dark brown colour eyeshadow (NARS Duo Eyeshadow- Cordura Palette) and apply it all over the eyelid. Keep the darkest colour along the lash line and blend outward towards the eye crease to create the smoky effect. Use feathering strokes to sweep the colour out to the sides to create a smooth and gentle blend.

Step Four: Bronze Eyeshadow

Then, take a bronze colour eyeshadow (NARS Duo Eyeshadow- Cordura Palette) and apply it on top of the dark brown colour eyeshadow applied previously. Blend this bronze shade in and out in a windshield wiper motion but make sure to keep this colour within the eyelid crease. This bronze shade over the darker eyeshadow will soften and illuminate the eyes.

Step Five: Complete the look with Mascara

Now the finishing touch! The final step is to finish with a fiber extension mascara to easily create that false eyelash look (Maybelline New York Illegal Length Mascara). Use the mascara brush and begin at the base of the lashes and sweep upwards from root to tip for maximum volume. To avoid clumps, wiggle the wand up the eyelashes. And Voila! You have your spring/summer smoky eye look.
